Acupuncture

Michael has studied with Dr Felix Mann, first President of the British Medical Acupuncture Society, Dr Vandesrasier who worked with Dr Mann over a number of years to develop effective acupuncture patterns, Dr Anthony Campbell and Dr Mike Cummings, all pioneers.

Now, scientific study of the Chinese heritage is sorting out what really works, integrating Western and Chinese knowledge. Michael has also spent many hours with Chinese teachers.

Dr Mann found that the acupuncture “dose” should be right. Very sensitive patients may only need one needle! Some patients prefer finger contact.

Medical acupuncture discovered the power of treating a tender, trigger acupuncture point.

The range of positive response is from relief, improvement to cure.

Acupuncture needles are very fine, easy to apply, not a big deal.

ACUPUNCTURE HELPS HEAL MANY PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Any list is only a fragment of what can be done. Acupuncture’s scope is expanding. It is regarded by the House of Lords as a “gold standard” treatment.

Also clicking and popping of the joint, grinding sounds, headaches, migraine, dizziness, excessive wear of teeth, head and neck pains, generalised tension, anxiety and irritability.

These treatments help. Acupuncture, a dental repositioning night splint from your dentist and cranio-sacral therapy, a subtle but powerful form of non-invasive body work. Michael offers acupuncture and cranio-sacral therapy and is very pleased to see the benefit for TMJ/tinnitus patients.

COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE

As a medical doctor myself, I like to work alongside my patient’s medical and dental advisers. As appropriate, please stay in touch with your doctors while receiving acupuncture.

Other services available include:

Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, changing the mental/emotional causes of illness and problems by understanding how the mind works.

Craniosacral Therapy, a powerful, subtle, non-intrusive therapy, carried out fully clothed on the couch.

FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

This is taught by a doctor who has studied for a number of years
with Dr Felix Mann, pioneer of acupunture in this country and former
President of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

The Chinese acupuncturists feel that acupuncture is a preventive
medicine, building up good energy and wellbeing over a period of time.
After facial acupuncture, patients say that they feel a strong sense
of wellbeing,a "glow" that makes them feel more lively and attractive.

There also appear to be changes of a physical nature, with the facial
markings becoming less obvious. In fact, patients who started their treatment
20 years ago look younger now than they did when they started their
treatment.

Many patients refer to this treatment as COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

The needles are small and patients easily get used to having their
regular treatment.
